Location & Transportation

Once on the Eastern border of the Austrian Empire, Nasaud is today at a crossroads between the urban and rural Europe. Catch a glimpse of the last living traces of Europe's authentic rural tradition.
Directions	From the Nasaud train station go straight forward on Miron Cristea Street, turn left on B-dul Granicerilor, then turn right on Valea Caselor Street. It is a 15 minute walk from the train station. A small town surrounded by hills and forests, Nasaud is situated 109 km away from Cluj, on the banks of the Somes river. For centuries Nasaud has been the educational and cultural centre of the Somes Valley. Being part of the eastern border of the Austrian empire in the 17th century, Nasaud area enjoyed certain privileges.
Transportation	Take one of the two direct trains Budapest-Cluj, and from Cluj there are five trains daily, in the direction Cluj-Ilva Mica-Suceava-Iasi. Cluj-Nasaud: two hours by fast train.
Airport	The nearest airport is in Cluj-Napoca, two hours from Nasaud. A taxi can take you from the airport to the Cluj-Napoca train station, the price is approx. 4 euros.
